Meadowgate Farmstead

★★★★☆ 4.2 Editor rating

Meadowgate Farmstead is a laid-back farming simulator where the whole point is the routine. You plant crops, tend animals, fix up the village and get to know a cast of gently written neighbours. It plays slowly and happily so.

What sets it apart from a lot of mobile farm games is the lack of pressure. There are no real-time growth timers nagging you to come back, and seasons pass based on in-game days. That makes it a pleasant offline companion for a long train ride.

It's not the most complex sim out there, and the crafting trees stay shallow. But as something to potter around in without an internet connection, Meadowgate hits a nice, comfortable note.
