Casinacho Games
Casinacho Games is a grab-bag of short, self-contained mini-games wrapped in a friendly, colourful interface. You open it, tap a tile, and you're dropped straight into a quick round of pattern matching, timing taps or light puzzle solving. Everything loads instantly and nothing asks you to sign in, which is exactly why it ended up on our desks for a proper look.
The controls are the strong point. Each mini-game sticks to one or two simple gestures, usually a tap or a swipe, so you can play one-handed on a crowded bus. The difficulty ramps gently, and because sessions last a minute or two, it's the kind of app you dip into between other things rather than sit down with for an hour.
What we liked most is how considerate it is offline. Your progress and little high-score counters all save locally, so switching to airplane mode changes nothing. It won't blow anyone away with depth, but as a tidy little time-filler it does its job well and doesn't nag you.
