Hollow Lantern
Hollow Lantern is the kind of offline RPG that respects your time but still gives you a proper adventure. You guide a lantern-bearer through a crumbling kingdom, recruiting a small party and working through turn-based battles that reward patience over button-mashing. The art is moody and hand-drawn, and it reads beautifully even on a smaller phone.
Combat leans on positioning and timing. Each character has a short, readable set of skills, and the fun comes from chaining them together rather than grinding levels. Boss fights are genuine puzzles, and I lost two of them before I understood how the stagger system worked.
The whole campaign runs offline, saves are frequent, and there's no stamina timer forcing you to put the phone down. It's a quiet, generous game that trusts you to explore at your own pace.
